While attending Kent State I began working for KinderCare, and eventually became the Center Director after graduating. Later, I became a product manager for Cisco systems, overseeing product lines from creation to end of life. When our Ohio division was closed in 2009, it was time to move in a new direction. 

I wanted to make a difference here at home, and recognized that Kent was in need of safe, reliable childcare options for working families. I opened Looking Glass Learning Center here in Kent. I am very proud to be entering our 18th year of business,  and now operate 2 locations in Kent and Brimfield. It’s been our privilege to provide a safe and positive learning environment for thousands of families across Portage County. 

I’m honored to serve on the Portage County CASA Associate Board, which raises funds for children in kinship and foster care. Additionally, I am a member of the Celebrate Portage board. Our dinner in the fall recognizes members of our community and all the good in the county.

I’m running for Portage County Commissioner because families are struggling to get by. While we fight to put food on the table, and to keep up with rising costs, our Commissioners have failed to rein in their own spending.

And while folks from all across Portage County are making their voices heard on the serious issues impacting our community, our Commissioners simply aren’t listening.

I know what it takes to balance a budget, to handle complex legal agreements and large transactions, to deal with personnel matters, and how to raise funds. I also know how important it is to listen to the people you represent, and to vote for their interests, not your own.

I’m running because I believe I can make a real difference here in Portage County. I hope you’ll join me.
